This spring semester, 172 students enrolled in my Black Fire lecture course, which examines the social, intellectual, and political life of African Americans at UVA in the post- Civil rights era. Despite the challenges of the global pandemic and virtual learning, the students performed remarkably well, engaging the readings with rigor and thoughtfulness, completing their assignments, and submitting wonderful group projects. Their projects ranged from hour long podcasts to special editions of Pride. Over the next few weeks, I will post some of those projects on the website.
